Topographic Map

A topographic map is a large-scale detail and quantitative representation of relief. It uses contour lines along with many other methods. They show both natural and man-made features. This map is showing a section of the North East land and water.

Planimetric Map

A planimetric map shows only the horizontal positions of features. The maps do not show any of the vertical information. Things usually shown on these kinds of maps are lakes, rivers, roads, mountains, valleys, forest, cities, and boundary lines.
